2007 Honorable Mention
The Midwest Booksellers’ Choice Awards honor authors from the Midwest Booksellers Association (MBA) region and/or books about the region, which includes the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The 2007 Midwest Booksellers Choice Awards are chosen from books which were published between May 1, 2006 and April 30, 2007. This year’s winners and honor books are announced publicly on August 6, 2007. These 2007 Midwest Booksellers’ Choice Award titles have been voted the top favorite books in each of the five award categories. They were both nominated and chosen entirely by the knowledgeable booksellers of the 240+ locally owned and operated independent bookstore members of the Midwest Booksellers Association. The 2007 Midwest Booksellers’ Choice Awards will be presented formally on October 5, 2007, during the Midwest Booksellers Association’s 27th Annual Trade Show in Minneapolis, MN. Winners Michael Perry (via a special video presentation), Kevin Henkes, and Catherine Gilbert Murdock will speak at the event. Honor Book recipients William Kent Krueger, Lauren Stringer, and Loretta Ellsworth also will attend. Additional authors may be confirmed for the reception at a later date. This awards reception is open only to members of the Midwest Booksellers Association who are registered to attend the MBA Trade Show. It is not a public event. MBA joins our booksellers in warmly recommending these excellent books and authors to you!
