“I know we are all struggling with tight budgets, but I can offer some data I just found to support that the regional holiday catalogs work. Using Bookscan, I isolated a few books and found a definite effect on sales. There’s also of plenty of anecdotal evidence to show that initial orders double or triple when a rep says a book is in the catalog……These marketing vehicles are THE holiday tool for everyone from Tattered Cover and Powell’s to hundreds of small indies whose combined sales in rural markets constitute a top 5 Bookscan market all by themselves.”
– Carl Lennertz, HarperCollins Publishers

Take a look at these 2008 kudos from our MBA booksellers, just in case you need to be convinced of the MBA Catalog’s value and effectiveness in SELLING BOOKS –
“Not only were sales WAY up this year, but this has been my BEST holiday season in the 8 years I have been in business! MBA Catalog sales are up. In addition, because of what they saw in the MBA Catalog, I sold other related titles. I think it is important to note this because the catalog sales actually transcend the catalog’s own content.”
– Angela Grafstrom, Inspiration Hollow, Roseau, MN”We’ve had more people bring in the MBA Catalog wanting specific books than ever before. In addition, Midwest Connections highlights books that we probably wouldn’t sell without the help of that program.”
– Carla Ketner, Chapters Books & Gifts, Seward, NE“The MBA Catalog was a BIG hit!!! Sales were 130% UP for us for December. No, that is not a misprint. Yes, I’m excited. Yes, I believe the AGGRESSIVE catalog/marketing combo helped TREMENDOUSLY. My staff are really excited about the catalog as a marketing tool.”
– Miah Shull Olmsted, Back to Books, Hudson, WI
