Greetings from sunny Bayfield! It's so good to be writing this while the sun is out, making the three feet of snow on the ground seem less daunting and more magical. It's a reminder during these long winters why we've chosen to live and work in a majestic place like the shores of Lake Superior.
We'd like to take a moment to encourage all of you to register for the upcoming Spring Roadtrip on April 5-6. At first, Bayfield might seem like the middle of nowhere, but really, we are quite simple to get to, and while April is known as “quiet” season, there's plenty of beauty and solitude to make the trip worth your while.
The setting in Bayfield in an ideal location to stop for a minute and think. Sit by one of the windows at the Wild Rice Retreat Center and be mesmerized by the views of Lake Superior through the bare birch trees. It is the perfect place for contemplation and creation.
There are daily flights to Duluth, Minnesota from both Minneapolis and Chicago. The drive from Duluth is about one hour and forty-five minutes; it’s about four hours from Minneapolis. Come prepared for basically any kind of weather. It could snow. It could rain. It could be gloriously sunny out! The beauty of this area remains no matter the weather. This is a time of year to sit inside, enjoy a libation or two, read a book, play games, and enjoy the company of great people.
We look forward to hosting you all in our favorite place! And, please, if you have any questions or need help finding accommodations or transportation, please do not hesitate to reach out!
All our best,
Demaris Brinton, Theron O’Connor, and Kristen Sandstrom
