Organization Overview

Located in the exciting West Bank community in Minneapolis, May Day Books is a volunteer collective dedicated to selling left-wing literature - activist, labor, progressive, populist, revolutionary, working class, proletarian, union, anarchist, green, socialist, Marxist, Leninist, Trotskyist, Maoist, communist, radical, left, feminist, African-American, Latinix, Indigenous, GLBTQ, community-oriented, survivalist, Do-It-Yourself (DIY), conspiracy analyst, rock and roll music. May Day provides a space for political education and camaraderie. We are a no-profit bookstore with a progressive educational mission, independent of the corporate fat cats who run the country and control the media.

We provide quality political books to the public, both fiction and non-fiction, sold at a discount rate of 15%-20% below cover price. We have a wide assortment of political magazines, newspapers, used and cutout books. Mayday Books is also a progressive political hub for educational events and information on social movements in the Twin Cities. We regularly host public events, author talks and private group meetings. Please call the store directly to reserve the store for an event or meeting.
