We serve the three following membership types.
- Professional — Independent bookstores in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, western Illinois, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
- Affiliate — Publishers, wholesalers, distributors, rep groups, and other closely affiliated companies such as POS systems
- Associate — Media, librarians, and other individuals with ties to the industry
Our purpose is to strengthen independent bookselling in Midwest. We accomplish this by providing year-round resources, programs to enhance handselling, and our annual trade show, The Heartland Fall Forum, where booksellers connect with publishers, authors, and colleagues across the region.
Bookseller membership dues are $120/year.
We connect publishers, distributors, wholesalers, and rep groups with the crucial sales channel of independent bookstores. Our programming and advertising allows reps and marketing teams access to a large concentration of booksellers.
Affiliate membership dues are $175/year.
Media, librarians, and other members of the book industry can enjoy many of the same benefits as affiliate members--attendance at our annual trade show, bookselling news and resources, and connection with the other industry professionals.
Associate membership dues are $150/year.
