Professional Bio

Sabu's Books is a minority and women owned independent bookstore committed to offering a quality selection of books, used-and-new, for customers of all ages. The owners, Sabreena Anowar and Janene Hillbrick opened the store in the south side of town in February 2024 with the hope of sharing their love of reading with the community. They like to call their store "the cozy little bookstore in the south side of town". Everyone who enters the store is greeted with smiles from the owners, Anowar and Hillbrick, and the cutest little furry face, Rama the cat who is also the mascot. The store comprises four rooms, three of which contain books for adults and one room is dedicated to young readers from K-12. The collection at the store is hand curated by the owners to suit every reader's taste and comprises books on a myriad of genres from both fiction and nonfiction categories. The store offers complimentary coffee and ample comfy reading nooks to ensure that the book-search endeavor for everyone is a pleasant and memorable experience.
