Hello bookseller and industry members!
What follows is an overview of the onboarding process for our new AMS (association management software) with Novi. 
We're excited about this platform for so many reasons. It's a powerful tool that will let us streamline membership processes, get your staff more involved, track events, and create multiple types of member directories--some public-facing, some strictly member-to-member.
Please check out the four milestones so you know what our goals are. That way, you'll know what type of information we'll be gathering for you at what time and why. 

Milestone 1 - Logging in

Timeline: Now
Task: Activate your account
Last week, we introduced our new website and member management platform by encouraging you to log in and create your account.
 
Every email address we had in our old system—both owners and staff—has been migrated to our new system. Please log in with your email address (the one this email was sent to) and create an account.
If you are the store owner or MIBA’s primary contact, many facets of MemberCompass will be available, allowing you to move to Milestone 2.

Milestone 2 - Company and staff management

Timeline: Next week through end of year

Task: Supply your bookstore/company information to build your profile in our public-facing directory

Next week, we are sending an email to your company/bookstore's primary contact. If you are listed as the primary contact, your Member Compass will have a great deal of information about you and your bookstore. Please supply all the information requested.

  • Supply company info to complete your directory profile
  • Add/update staff information
  • Pay balance and account history--when you log in now, dues invoices for 2022 are available

Milestone 3 - Personal profile

Timeline: January through May 2022
Task: Supply your personal information to build your profile in our trade-facing directory

In this milestone, we will focus on building trade-facing connections by asking all of our bookstore and industry members to share actionable information our members can use to better work with each other. At this stage, we will want all industry members' bookstore-facing staff to have a profile in our system. If you have feedback on the types of information you'd like to see in a bookseller-industry trade directory, let us know.

Milestone 4 - Member-to-member directory launch

Milestone 4 is all about building connections. We'll launch our member-to-member directories and dig into using this new platform to connect our industry in time for our return to in-person programming on May 23-24 in Bayfield, WI.
